Oct 29, Day 8,
Saturday
We ascend the
Mount of Olives for a view of Jerusalem and an orientation of it's many holy
places. An inspiring walk down the Palm Sunday Road brings us to the Tear Drop
Church where Christ wept over the city. After our worship service we walk on to
the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations.
After seeing
David's Tomb and the Upper Room we'll have lunch. This afternoon we see St.
Peter in Gallicantu, Gordon's Calvary and the Garden
Tomb for a worship service that includes the Lord's Supper. We return to our
hotel for Sabbath dinner and overnight.
Oct 28, Day 7, Friday
Today's tour
begins at the Western Wall, followed by a walking tour of the Old City starting at the Lion's Gate. First stop is
the Pool of Bethesda and the Crusader Church of St. Anne. Returning to the
narrow streets, we walk along the Via Dolorosa, stopping at various Stations of
the Cross which end at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. You will have free time
to shop in the Old City. After lunch we board our bus for a short ride to
Ein Karem to visit the birthplace of John the Baptist before going to the Shrine
of the Book to see the Dead Sea Scrolls. Then, it's back to the Sheraton Plaza for another
delicious dinner.
Oct 30, Day 9, Sunday
We leave Jerusalem and begin a descent down the Jericho Road to the Dead Sea. Along the way, we see Bedouin tents, the Inn of the Good Samaritan and Jericho. First stop is Masada, a fortress- palace built by King Herod. It was here Jewish defenders made their heroic stand against the Roman forces in 73 A.D. Our lunch stop gives opportunity for swimming or wading in the Dead Sea. This afternoon we travel on to Eilat. On the way we make a brief stop for ice cream at Yatvata. Before and after dinner at the Sheraton Moriah Eilat, you will have time to explore the many shops on the boardwalk along the Red Sea.
Oct 31, Day 10, Monday
This will be a special and relaxing day in the resort city of Eilat, on the shore of the Red Sea. We'll spend much of the morning at the Coral Observatory and Water Park to see the coal reef and other aquatic life found in the region. This afternoon is free for you to enjoy a variety of activities available in Eilat, including the beach, the hotel pool, and shopping. Dinner and overnight at our sea-side hotel.

Nov 1, Day 11, Tuesday
We depart Eilat and make our way to Solomon's Pillars and Mines before starting our drive to Tel Aviv. Along the way we'll stop at the Rimon Crater, Israel's Grand Canyon, and at Sede Bokar, the home and burial site of David Ben Gurion and his wife Paula. As we travel, you will see the desert in bloom. Our highway takes us through Beersheba, a truly remarkable modern city and Old Testament site. Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, we will have a brief tour of ancient Jaffa before dinner. Our driver and guide will bid us farewell as we make our way back to the airport for our overnight flight to Newark.
Nov 2, Day 12, Wednesday
We arrive back in Newark early morning, making it possible for convenient connecting flights back home. Shalom and many happy memories.
